Logos are the bread and butter of just about every designer. Using type and some illustration, I work with my clients to create a brand specific to who they are and what they do.
I created this logo for brynnalexis, focusing on her attention to very small detail in jewelry and nature. I pulled elements from some of her designs and incorporated them in silhouette with a typeface that has an artistic and organic feel.
Handmade Toledo logo
Handmade Toledo needed a brand update for their new adventure in wonderful Uptown Toledo. After working with them on several event posters, we put our heads together for a new look in record time.
Simply Clean by Keri
Keri needed a logo that expressed how "happy-clean" the spaces she works in are when she is finished. The type I chose depicts her bubbly personality, while the icon portrays the clear message of what her business accomplishes.
Kids with Knives
The band contacted me for a fun logo, and I knew I would be starting with my knife block. I used drawings of traditional and easily-recognized cutlery in place of instruments with a hand-written typeface, showcasing the band's playful side.
Village on Adams logo
Through my work with Handmade Toledo, I was asked to join the Village on Adams group, a non-profit with interests in making Adams Street in Toledo a great place to be. The irreverent nature of the community lends itself to a lighter take on one of the country's favorite presidential curmudgeons.
Known for the flower in her hair, DWhite is a creative lady known on Etsy. She needed a logo that spoke to who she is and to the one-of-a-kind nature of her pieces.
posters & printed works
Much of my work is in print design. I've got more than a few posters under my belt, and I can put together an event program in no time (but you should probably give me a little notice if you have a deadline). From posters to page layout, here are some of my favorites.

Handmade Toledo business cards
Handmade Toledo opened a brick and mortar, and they needed new business cards to match their new 'do!

Village on Adams New Year's Eve Ball Drop poster
Cinco de Mayhem poster
Roller Derby Bout Programs
Sharkwater Promotional Items
Printed on both sides of a transparent page to mimic the frosted glass bottle, this is one of my all-time favorite things I've ever done. I love using materials that are unique to give printed pieces that extra pop.

Maker's Mart poster & promo
HCR ManorCare HugFund campaign poster
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company materials
In my years as a print designer, I've come to be pretty speedy with the pen tool. I really like taking photos and adding a bit of style, while making them scalable in vector format. Live trace has nothing on me.
Anchor Dress for Oh Sew Betty!

Toledo & Old West End maps
Stat Rat t-shirt design
Package design is probably my favorite area to work. I love moving pieces and type into three dimensions. From small budgets with hand assembly to mass production in China, I've designed and assisted in the production of some pretty killer pieces.
Candy's Signature Cocktails
Candy's Signature Cocktails is a new brand of ready to pour beverages designed for ladies on the go. This is one of my favorite designs I've ever done, AND it has won Silver in Creativity International's 44th Annual Awards, as well as being honored by HOW International's awards in 2014.

brynnalexis packaging (closed)
brynnalexis needed a package for her small jewelry items that would both showcase her pieces, and wrap them up securely. Working with a smaller budget, I utilized a heavy chocolate-colored stock and a silver foil stamp with a custom die cut for a simple and elegant solution.

In 2014, for the celebration of everything awesome about Toledo on 4-19 day, I decided to up my skin in the handmade game. I screen printed the two maps I had previously designed of the Old West End and the City of Toledo, and I added three other neighborhoods (because I'm a crazy person): Uptown District, Warehouse District, and Downtown Toledo. They are currently being re-printed because this past Holiday season wiped out my inventory. Check in at Art Supply Depo in the Warehouse District and Handmade Toledo at 1717 Adams Street to pick some up!

I took a quick shot of the lovely display Jules put together at Art Supply Depo. I'm so pleased to be near such talent!
